My latest one-off comic, which is called 'The Human Condition In The Paradigm of Contemporary Midwestern University Culture' or something, in its entirety. (Thanks to Michael Tabor, who came up with the giant calzone-parachute idea.) Enjoy it, have a nice day, come again please. (New stuff is in the works!)OH, hey if you are in the Iowa City area and are a fan of ballet, Christmas kitsch, High Culture, kitchenware, that sort of thing, and are looking for something possibly Tchaikovsky-related to do this weekend, you may want to consider The Nutcracker at the Englert Theatre. NO SERIOUSLY it is a really good show, and I happen to be in the orchestra (back of the viola section, natch).

Brian, this is fantastic--feels like a professional comic, something the Village Voice or NY Press would've printed. By professional, I mean the coloring, artistry, line, inking all feel like something I could see published in one of those high-end comics anthologies and it would feel like it *belongs* there.
The one thing I'd recommend is make the sizing larger--I want to be able to see it bigger!
Kind of like Maakies meets Julius Knipl. I feel like you should submit it to a couple of comics magazines--start with the paying ones.
Gosh, thanks! The images I uploaded were a bit bigger, but Blogger's new image viewing format smusched them. Oh well, I oughtn't to complain about a thing I am getting for free. Very flattering comments, thank you, Greg!
How do you draw a thing so good, Asian?? Jesus Christ!!
Do you use a "program" for the shading and such?
(postscrip: We play that Englert Nutcrack on the PublicA.TeleV. all the time; every second)

Yeah, I used Gimp for all the shading and a lot of the linework. It is like a kind of bare-bones but free Photoshop.
I should tune in to Public Access once so I can finally see what the show looks like. All I get to see for most of it is a page full of sixteenth notes.
